He was extremely courteous, analyzed the problem and got it fixed.   • Dear OSI, My oil burner stopped working on one of the coldest nights in January; it was 19 degrees outside. I called OSI and Mike said that someone would be over soon. That’s when Scott Nicholsen arrived. He was very professional and knowledgeable. In no time, he cleaned, repaired and replaced many parts of the boiler. Before he left, the heat was back on and working efficiently throughout the night. I would like to compliment OSI on their employees, Mike and Scott, for their continued service since 1983.

Four Generations of Service

Morris Levi founded the company in Rockaway Beach in 1936, during the Great Depression. Neighbors helped neighbors in those days, and Mr. Levi was known to carry oil in five-gallon pails over snowdrifts to customers’ homes. When money was tight, he sometimes charged less than he paid himself for the oil. Morris was joined in the business by his son, Irving, and they were eventually joined by Irving’s sons, Martin, Richard and Alan. The fourth generation came on board when Richard’s son Michael joined the company.
